8 Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act)

The Savills Group takes the security and privacy of those of its clients and contacts about whom it holds personal information extremely seriously. The Group follows strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal information given to us in order to prevent unauthorised access.

Personal Data is held on our contacts and administration database either because of work Savills have undertaken or are currently engaged in, or because our clients have indicated that they would be interested in receiving material from us about our business and services. To that end Savills holds client contact details and the history of its client relationship. This allows Savills to manage its client relationships effectively and target items of interest so that clients do not receive unwanted material through the post.

In accordance with their rights under the Act, clients may request the amendment of the personal information held and to cease receiving direct marketing materials. What is the process for complaining about a breach of privacy?

If you make a complaint, we will respond within 48 hours to let you know who is responsible for managing your complaint. We will use our best endeavours to try and resolve your complaint within 10 working days. If this is not possible, we will contact you within that time to let you know how long we think it will take.

We will investigate your complaint and where necessary, consult with third parties about your complaint. Once the matter has been fully investigated, we will write to you outlining our findings and the reasons why we have made them.

If you are still unsatisfied with our response then please contact us using the contact information below and we will explain to you how you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Do we disclose your personal information to anyone outside Australia?

We may disclose personal information to our related bodies corporate and third party suppliers and service providers located overseas for some of the purposes listed above.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipients of your personal information do not breach the privacy obligations relating to your personal information.
